Our Engaging Day Program
Summerhouse Kids enjoy a myriad of activity choices in an open floor plan through goal-oriented projects and large- and small-group activities. And three times a day, they enjoy yummy, nutritious snacks together.
The Summerhouse Crew
Our Crew is a group of energetic partners who are curious, creative, and playful. As adult peers to our students, we meet them at their level as we all learn, play, and grow together. We offer a Crew-in-Training program for ages 12-15.

Our Summerhouse program’s design is based on Sequoyah’s progressive philosophy and social-emotional learning curriculum.

One-Weeks Blocks
Our flexible program conveniently allows you to choose which weeks your child attends. Summerhouse can work around your vacation plans,

5-Day Weeks: $575/week
4-Day Holiday Weeks: $460/week
(Closed 6/19 and 7/4)
A 50% deposit is required at registration.
Full payment is due by the start of the first week of your child’s session(s).

Refund Policy
If you change your plans:
If you cancel more than 7 days before your camp start date, you will receive a refund minus the 50% non-refundable deposit.
No refunds will be given for cancellations made within 7 days of your camp start date
If your child cannot attend due to illness:
If canceling due to illness, a doctor’s note will be required for a full refund.

CIT Program
Learn about our CIT Program for ages 12-17.
Applicants need to complete and submit the application, questionnaire, and two letters of reference by May 1, 2023, in order to be considered for the program. Limited space is available.

Crew-In-Training Program
Train and work with Summerhouse Crew.
Summerhouse Crew-in-Training (CIT) is an opportunity for students to expand their understanding of responsibility, as well as their sense of self, as part of a team. This summer learning experience equips participants with management, operational, and leadership skills.
Initial CIT training includes a week-long intensive process with students learning and practicing these skills.
Then, for their selected two-week sessions, CITs will collaborate with Crew and interact with Summerhouse Kids.
During the mandatory training week, CITs will learn:
- Conflict Mediation
- First Aid / CPR / AED training & certification
- Safety Protocols specific to Summerhouse
- Project and Activity Planning

12-17 (as of 9/1/2023)
Dates & Times
CITs must commit to attending the Training Week and a minimum of two weeks of the Summerhouse session. (Consecutive weeks not required.)
Mandatory Training Week:
June 12– 16, 2023
8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
(Hours may vary during training week.)
Session Weeks:
June 20–August 11, 2023
8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Tuition*

Refund Policy
If you change your plans:
You won’t owe the second half of the fees, but you will forfeit your deposit.
If you cannot attend due to illness:
Your deposit and fees will be refunded. A doctor’s note will be required.

- Commit to attending the mandatory training week which includes training in Conflict Mediation, First Aid / CPR / AED training & certification, Safety Protocols specific to Summerhouse, and Project and Activity Planning
- Commit to participating for a minimum of two weeks (Consecutive weeks not required.)
- Commit to being present for a full shift (8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.)
- Escorting Summerhouse Kids during pickup and drop-off
- Assist in leading Summerhouse activities (CITs will only help supervise children alongside Crew members, never alone.)
- Help develop activities
- Model how to maintain a clean campus
- Model Sequoyah’s Habits of Mind
Admission to the CIT program is contingent upon the staff’s determination of whether an applicant is up to the tasks and requirements. If not accepted, students can reapply the following year.
