Is the CIT program a good fit for my child?

Consider that your child will need to participate in the activities
and commit to the requirements
  • Commit to attending the mandatory training week which includes training in First Aid, Conflict Mediation, and Trauma-Informed Counseling
  • Commit to working for three weeks
  • Commit to working a consistent shift (8:30-4:30 or 9:00-500)
  • Help students with COVID safety by reinforcing the guidelines and leading by example
  • Escorting Summerhouse Kids during pickup and drop-off
  • Assist in leading Summerhouse activities (CITs will only help supervise children alongside Crew members, never alone.)
  • Help develop activities
  • Model how to maintain a clean campus
  • Model Sequoyah’s Habits of Mind

Admission to the CIT program is contingent upon the staff’s determination of whether an applicant is up to the tasks and requirements. If not accepted, students can reapply the following year.
