Big feelings.
“If we didn’t have feelings, our life wouldn’t be fun!” Students in The Pond (K/1) recall learning about feelings and emotions.
Social-emotional learning at Sequoyah starts with the youngest students and is developmentally woven throughout the K-8 curriculum.
Valuing differences.
“Two puzzle pieces that fit together aren’t the same. They’re different. But they fit together.” Sequoyah junior high school students share about the value of differences in their lives and the world around them.
Diversity, equity, and inclusion are founding values of the school and are integral to all stages of K-8 teaching and learning.
