At Sequoyah, we believe in the intrinsic worth of every individual.
Affording a Sequoyah Education
If you are considering Sequoyah for your family, then you most likely believe in the value of an independent school education. And whether your top reasons for applying are high academic standards, small classes, and individual attention; or excellent teachers and an actively involved parent community; or an educational philosophy based in inclusiveness and respect; you will come to understand that investing in elementary and high school education can pay dividends for a lifetime.
Sequoyah offers families the flexibility to choose between two tuition payment options — a full tuition payment by the end of June or an 11-month payment plan. We encourage families who have concerns about affording the top tuition to apply for Indexed Tuition. For those families whose complete applications meet established criteria, we will set tuition based on their unique financial situations.

Sequoyah is an intentionally diverse school community.
At Sequoyah, diversity is a core educational value – including socioeconomic diversity. We dedicate a significant portion of operating revenue to support Indexed Tuition, with 30-40% of our families paying less than the maximum tuition level. As a result, our school community includes a broad spectrum of social, economic, ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Annual Giving also contributes to our commitment to sustaining an inclusive school community. We value every gift and ask all families to make a philanthropic contribution to the school each year, according to their means.

Sequoyah offers an Indexed Tuition program, instead of financial aid, that allows families to pay a tuition rate based on their financial means. We encourage families who have concerns about their ability to afford the top tuition to apply. For families who submit a complete application and meet the established criteria, we will set tuition based on their unique financial situation. Approximately 30-40% of our students will be assigned less than the maximum-level tuition.
It is important that new families disclose potential need of the Indexed Tuition program at the time of their original application to the school. If your family is not assigned a lower tuition level upon admission, and outside an adverse change in personal circumstances, we anticipate in our budgeting that your family will be paying the top tuition in subsequent years.
